The ultimate shallow water technical poling skiff, the Professional 17.8 was designed specifically for the single-minded pursuit of fish in the most challenging shallow water conditions. Silent and effortless to pole, with a dry comfortable ride, this is the uncompromising pinnacle of a shallow water skiff. The fish will complain that it’s just not fair.

The Hells Bay Professional is a skiff that can do it all. From sight fishing the flats of Mosquito Lagoon to running the beaches for Tarpon she is well equipped for whatever you decide to do today! Heck I have even taken her 8-10 miles offshore Stuart Fl and caught sailfish out of her. The skiff poles well and likes to spin and pole nose into the wind due to the 2° deadrise in the transom. With the sharp bow entry she is very quiet in a wind chop and rides well on plane in moderate chop when tabs are applied correctly. With the Yamaha 70hp and 3 blade prop I am seeing average 24-28mph cruising and W.O.T she tops out around 36-38mph. Having a standard 23 gallon fuel tank coupled with the fuel efficiency of the Yamaha F70 your range in any day of fishing is almost unlimited. I typically run with a half tank of fuel for weight distribution. The hatch layout is perfect for a varied style of fishing that I do and the live well is plumbed in a nice fashion that can double as wet storage for anchors or wading boots. Overall she is an amazing skiff and I am thrilled each day I slide off the trailer and still pinch myself on a daily basis.
