With a hull design born from renowned skiff designer Chris Morejohn, the CF16 is positioned as a utilitarian technical poling skiff built with simplicity in mind. Simple Skiffs says it works from the Everglades backcountry to the flood tides of the Lowcountry and can be configured bare-bones or as a customizable blank canvas.

I spent more than a few months doing nothing but reading posts on sites like MicroSkiff / SkiffHQ trying to dig into what I needed in a skiff. Before a website like this came along.. What I can say is that for my personal journey if this site existed I would've come to the same conclusion, the famous CF16. This skiff has been everything I hoped it would be and more. I loved the fact that it come bare bones and is a fly fishing purpose built machine. I however like my toys, so while this is my first skiff it was also my first experience at rigging and I loved every nervous infuriating minute of it. The CF16 does what it advertises, I dialed mine in with a jackplate, cav plate, baumann prop, and shallow water scoops. I have the JP on the top bolt and the motor one down from top, letting me getting the prop halfway out of the water and skim across what look like puddles.\ I can comfortable cruise from spot to spot at 28-30 mph with gear and walk the gunnels to the TM without issue. Ride is quiet, as is poling. It's light enough that I tow it with a station wagon and you can't even feel it from the car. Request Coosa for the front deck if you plan to add a trolling motor, the rest you'll do yourself. I can say this thing gets compliments and questions everytime I take it out. Everyone from Chittum to HB owners ask about it, heck there are several guides that switched from Chittums to these for their smaller rigs. Proof is in the pudding. Whether you want bare bones or to fully rig yourself the Simple Skiff team was amazing and delivered a fantastic product. A good buddy of mine with years of experience on Chittums, HB's etc simply said "wow, I'm impressed." Good enough for me! I'd buy one again in a heartbeat. Bottom line - do your research and know what purpose you're buying your skiff for. For me those items matched up with Simple and I couldn't be happier.
